History
The Colombian Association of Petroleum Engineers (ACIPET) was born in 1962 in Tibu, Northern Santander (Colombia), where several professionals conceived the idea to gather and support their colleagues who did not have an industrial union representing them.
In 1965, ACIPET organized their first event: The Seminar of Petroleum Engineering, where the association was officially introduced, recognized by Law 20 of 1984 as a Consultive Technical Corps of the National Government.
ACIPET is a first rank industrial union with Legal Constitution Certificate No. 02357 granted by the Ministry of Labor as of August 5, 1974. Their functions are regulated by the National Constitution, the Labor Substantive Code and other legal norms.
